It has been a while since we started this blog. We have talked about what to do with it off and on, however, as survivors ourselves, sometimes life and PTSD gets in the way. One of our dreams has been to open a retreat for survivors. A place of respite for those who have endured abuse at the hands of churches or religious institutions. (Thus, our name RIASN.)
Those of us desiring to build this retreat are all survivors, however, we wish to establish a peaceful setting, originally, we were thinking in Minnesota, though Colorado has been tossed around. We all love Colorado.
Currently, our status is “Dreaming with intention.”
We know what we want to do. We have a tentative plan. However, the challenge is we are real people with real lives and real issues. To do this, we need help. We need someone who knows about filing 501c3 status. We need land. We need to be able to get the land to retreat comfort. We need to get all the paperwork. And so much more.
Please bear with us while you support us through this journey. Your help and support helps make this dream a reality.
Our mission statement:
“To create an environment of peace and healing in the form of a non-religious retreat for those who have been abused in church or in religious settings.”
